A wild clay, wood-fired pot, hand-built earth and fire made visible in form and surface. subtle ridges, uneven surfaces, and the slight wobble that declares it was created by hand
The clay itself is sourced from privately owned land near the headwaters of Green lick run, a protected tributary that flows into the Youghiogheny river, that meets as one of Pittsburgh’s Three rivers. Dense and tactile, flecked with mineral inclusions and grit the finished piece catches the light and provide a raw, grounded texture. Carefully fired in a wood kiln.
